The Yay
I watched the game, he played efficient and smart, didnt come close to turning the ball over, moved the chains when needed.
he'll always play safe and risk-averse and prolly wont get you out of a hole, hence why he's not a starter. you put him on a stacked team with good D and he likely will produce decent numbers. great backup to have.

I get why Browns didnt want to go the Jimmy G route while having Jacoby. No point for a slight upgrade when Jacoby will play more risk-free and has been in the offense for a while and is already sunk cost money :manny:

Jacoby gone always have a job. Dude will almost never be the reason why a team loses.
This. He typically plays well and makes good decisions.
That's what you want to see from a veteran backup. Efficient play and a W.
He also plays the backup role well. I've never heard anything negative about him, he turns up plays hard when his number is called and then resumes his position on the bench after. Steelers should have probably made a move for Brissett instead of Mitch to be honest

Don't think this thread went the way OP thought :mjpls:

Jacoby's job is to be an efficient passer. He played great and even the commentators were raving about his control of the game. They're a run first team and he's not QB1 but the backup. They just need to be in the hunt until Deshaun's back. Get the W above all else.
