Doggystyle sold 800,000+ in the FIRST WEEK in 1993! And you guys are on here telling you think Kendrick is bigger now? :camby:

I’m a big Kendrick fan btw, been listening since the KLEP but that’s a crazy thing to say he’s bigger than ANY west coast MC ever right now.
Breh, this is why I rarely post in the booth. Too many CACs and new blacks giving their opinion on a genre they only recently came into.

Snoop was the biggest STAR (not just rap star) in the early to mid 90s. In music, he was third only to Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston in terms of popularity. This is not an exaggeration.

He did all this while maintaining his authenticity. Granted, you can argue once he got to his Martha Stuart era, he started to sell out… but Snoop and Dre redefined the whole culture in the 90s… it’s not even close.

Those camparisons are extremely dumb

1° Rap has not the same place it had 30 years ago

2) technology and mass media evolved too much

Before dissing Drake, kendrick had and still has:

-the 2nd biggest rap album of the whole century (when it comes to charts), ahead of any drake album, as confirmed by Billboard
-the best selling rap song ever
-the longuest chartin rap album ever
-the #1 highest rated rap album ever by critics
-the #2 highest rated rap album ever by critics
-the only pulitzer prize ever won by a non classical artist
-the 2nd best selling rap tour ever as a solo rapper, only topped by Travis.

Fin d it hard to believe all you want, but it's a fact DAMN was already having that kind of impact in the street and shyt had nothing to do with Drake :dead:
How can a large share of kendrick's supporcomes from people who hate Drake (reference to the battle), when Kendrick's DAMN is bigger than anything Drake has done, as confirmed by Billboard, and that album dropped way before their beef?

Make it make sense.
I think this beef with Drake cements Kendrick’s place in hip hop. Breh is feared and no one wants trouble with him on the mic.

I’m curious to see how he makes his impact outside of music.

I bet you Fat Joe made that comment, without pressing play yet.

Fat Joe will do or say anything for a bag. He knows full well Kendrick is all Interscope marketing and wouldnt even make it in a group click of the 90s.

Master Splinter looking squeaky voiced fake Afrocentric part-time gang banger :hubie:

That's exactly how it went. You could tell Kiss didn't fukk with that take.

Cap, Snoop Doggy Dogg. These guys are a decade + older than me and don’t know this? Think back to 50s buzz around 2002-2003…that was pretty much kinda the same energy Snoop had coming in
