Your talking about this?

"Common, whose real name is Lonnie Lynn, was starring in the film The Tale, which is about a woman's childhood sexual abuse, when he remembered the experience.

He was working on a scene with actress Laura Dern when the memory resurfaced.

"Old memories surprisingly flashed in my mind," he writes in his new book.

"I caught my breath and just kept looping the memories over and over, like rewinding an old VHS tape… I said 'Laura, I think I was abused'."

He said he was a 10 years old,so your a piece of garbage if its true:gucci:. And im about to be a piece of garbage when I say i dont believe him. This sounds like some Hollywood "let me show my vulnerability" play and that im open to ALL roles:picard:. But i humbly apologize if I am wrong. Im just not trying to hear someone "supressed" memories or "thinks" they were abused.

So im taking that out of the equation, and wouldnt have held being molested against him regardless. In light of these new revelations i wont say Kiss would destroy him. But he would gently sit him down in a Verzuz.

Usually i dont say "classics dont matter". But they dont matter in this scenario because the bar advantage leans so heavily towards Jada imo. Jada has classic battle records as well. Please dont mention "bytch in yoo" as some great diss above what Jada has done. Guys like Cube and Kiss are in a different weight class. Guys like Kiss have to be listened to differently. For mixtape era rappers,it was bigger than albums.
Hell naw that's not what I remember. Maybe I'm mixing his story up with Terry crews. I don't remember because I don't keep a detailed collection of bussy Chronicles in my mind so I'm going to abandon this point seeing as how there's a strong possibility I don't know what the hell I'm talking about :pachaha:

Musically speaking though it's no question Common crafts better albums. I just think that's cancelled by the fact Jada would walk him in a battle, versuz or otherwise. It's a lot closer than I think nikkas giving credit for and saying the question is disrespectful to Common is asinine.

We're talking overall, history of rap, you're talking eras, mixtapes are different etc.

It's cool to say Kiss sounds doper to you, but making it look like some of us aren't judging things properly ain't the move

Jada's raps might be more entertaining but that's about it

To me Com is TOP10 undisputed

Yes,i believe Common fans want yo skew the argument to overall in favor of Common. Are you telling me when yall saw this question, your first thought was "oh,they must want me to compare Common and Jadakiss albums:ohhh:". You all know damn well you dont bring up Jada in a comparison,if you want to compare albums. Its quite obvious this argument is about BARS. Even that is a weird comparison because its two different styles and intensions.

But bringing up albums is just Common fans trying to spin the argument in their guys favor because they know bars wise its not really close. Not when you talk impact, influence, peer to peer respect, national love.

And i guess you could say im trying to steer the argument in Jadas favor. But my counter to that is that its obviois bars are the primary,if not the only focus in this debate. Because nobody would bring up Kiss to have a discussion and comparison of albums with anybody. Now if they named Beans, sure we could discuss albums with Common, because Beans has albums held in high regard. Common fans playing obtuse with this one.

to you; common is rarely mention in anybodies list bro lets be real........

not taking away from his credits and contributions.....but you just don't see his name as like a standard top ten like that if we're being real.

It just much simpler to say you don’t fukk with Common musically :mjlol: then trying to find a way to dismiss discographies and give Kiss an out.

This topic is carry over from the Budden podcast in which they started debating who would rank higher on all-time lists, and then it went into career comparisons from what I gathered. An odd comparison, but I’m assuming the comparison was centered around lyricists.

As someone who listened and rock with both, I don’t see how Kiss ranked far ahead in bars/lyrical content, like Common is some lightweight.

If you prefer Kiss as a rapper/mc and his content, then that’s your preference.

It seems like you on West Coast or more West Coast sensibilities to try to dismiss ‘The bytch In Yoo’

Jada has no substance and lives off of one concept joint, Why.

Styles vs Common would be a better debate, but even then, Common has a superior discography.

Common got the better albums but Kiss is the better MC. Kiss is charismatic as shyt while Common is dull as bricks.

i’ll never understand this criticism that jadakiss has no substance. if you actually listen to his rhymes, he’s dropping gems of knowledge all the time.

i understand why some people might consider him superficial, since his subject matter rarely veers from the streets, but i think an argument can be made that jada has the sharpest pen in the game.

the structure of his verses, and his delivery of them, can stand up to damn near anyone else’s.

pain & torture

jada’s got a gun

welcome to d-block

show discipline (where he matched nas, bar for bar - especially on his 2nd verse)

some of u r buggin.

I feel like its one of those comparisons where we all feel we gotta pick Common as his albums are far greater, objectively.

But i know without question bar for bar, track for track, feature for feature i have played Jada's shyt 10x more over the years.

My guess is im not the only one.

Its common and its not close

1. He’s s real b boy!
2. He really freestyles off the dome.
3. Has multiple classic albums. I give him 3. Be, Resurrection, and Like Water For Chocolate
4. He has hit songs gold & platinum albums.
5. Has been rapping at a high level since the early 90s

Common is really him. I also think if he dropped Electric Circus today it will be met with acclaim. It’s a fire album.

And Common is ACTUALLY from the streets a real 4CH! Not clarence whose parents had a real good marriage like Jada lol okay I’m joking but yeah

This shouldnt be a discussion
