These kids have a lot of time to think because they're wealthy.

Poverty doesn't give you a lot of time to think because it's easy too get distracted by basic survival and the culture of poverty.

This is why nations that sprang up around the Nile river were able to grow grow and build pyramids because all of their basic necessities were provided for and they fell after these basics were disrupted by war.

It's also the reason black people living in villages in africa with famine will never advance until the basic necessities are in abundance.
