Condemning others and attacking them for being "unrighteous" is the opposite of the gospel, fool

Making people that actually follow Christ's teachings look stupid

You never heard a preacher preach?

You can call someone unrighteous as it is said in the bible

Didn’t Jesus say nobody is “good”

And scripture says “All our righteousness is “filthy rags” to God

Let’s be real, it’s enough scripture and Bible stories talking about sin, unrighteousness and shortcomings of mankind

The gospel is Jesus being the solution or “salvation”.

Can’t have a solution without a problem existing. Read between the lines

Jaden isn’t just saying “you’re going to hell” he’s preaching Jesus saves a lot as well

You chose to focus on what YOU want to. Do you….. :manny:

Like I said, I don’t co-sign his approach or weird delivery and mannerisms

Neither do I think it’s ok or smart using his platform or job to FORCE his opinion

But LGBT forces their PRIDE events on all nba players/fans in the same manner so…. Touche

But that’s besides the point
that's the difference though, is Jaden sent and called to be a minister? I don't think he is.

Romans 10:14-15

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

I don't think dude is a minister. i go to church to and from what i am taught, we have enough issues of our own to focus on instead of sitting in judgement on others. everyone with sense knows two men or two women don't belong together. one thing i've learned is to focus on self and hope i am prepared to meet God in peace and not worry about what goes on in this world. Now, if coercion is apart of it, then by all means have something to say. No one is going to force me to follow an ungodly path. he needs to focus on self, tweeting "The Lord healed his knee" and then he ends up getting shut down for the season because his knee in fact was not healed.

just my two cents though

I don’t know the exact scripture but all followers of Jesus or disciples are commanded to preach the gospel

Jesus was way more hard on the Pharisees

Y’all don’t know what Jaden’s life is like or his story/testimony and don’t know the environment as a pro athlete

In understand his reaction but that’s me. I dont expect no Christians to relate

I’m no “preacher” and even I know he shouldn’t act like the internet is his personal “church pulpit” but he put himself out there to get both the good and bad responses

If he thinks it’s his calling to be a pastor or preacher, good luck to him.

Based on his life story, it seems hes drastically turned his life around over the past year

And he credits that to his FAITH IN CHRIST

what is so wrong with that whether you believe in Jesus or not?

I can say he’s having more of a positive effect than a bad one all things considered going on in the world today.

Say what you want about him and his issues, but now millions of more people (nba fans) are hearing the gospel because his situation :hubie:

Plus now more and more Christian athletes might get right or become more bold in their faith as a show of support :manny:

The gospel is telling people of other religions they can't go to heaven? Cause that is what Jaden Ivey said :francis:

Only thing Jaden Ivey revealed is that the people siding with him don't know shyt about the gospel and aint read 1 page of the bible since they parents stopped making them go to church.

What part of the gospel is calling somebody you don't know a fake Christian? Cause that is what Jaden Ivey did.

No wonder how all these charlatan preaches get rich standing in the pulpit on Sunday but then you catch them on a Thursday with their 3 year old out of wedlock son and the baby momma is 19.

@DoubleClutch there is not a scripture in any book of the holy scriptures that teaches this LIE. you are not authorized to hold ANY scriptural position without the consent of a God sent APOSTLE. I am a believer in Christ and no way i am sent to preach anything. but what you said makes perfect sense and is the reason there are a ton of false prophets running around here, opening churches and stealing money due to incorrect teaching.

you must be APPOINTED by an APOSTLE

You must be Catholic

You’re scared about “false prophets” which will exists and have existed regardless

But what you’ve opened up the door for us corrupt church institutions and hierarchies created by MEN who are just as bad

You must be appointed by Jesus/God.

Any man knows inside if he’s “chosen”

What an idiotic notion to believe you can’t share the gospel of Jesus unless another MAN appoints you.

I’m sure there’s scripture commanding all followers of Jesus to preach the gospel to the entire world.

Under your analogy PAUL never should’ve preached or started a single church

I didn’t see him wait for any apostles approval.

Are you kidding right now? :gucci:

@MMS tell him what the Bible says on this please. I’m too lazy to pull up scripture :manny:

i'm not catholic my dude but you don't know what you are talking about in here calling for backup.

i never said anything about PAUL not being sent by GOD

GOD appointed the prophets and apostles - Luke 11:49

all other offices must be appointed by an APOSTLE
.

the apostle is 1st in the church homie. GOD put them there. 1st corinthians 12:28. an apostle fulfills every office.

but im still waiting for you to provide the scripture about that nonsense you said earlier about "I don’t know the exact scripture but all followers of Jesus or disciples are commanded to preach the gospel"

Just Common sense tells me what the job of a “follower of Jesus is”

Jesus tells to preach the gospel to all ends of the earth

Take that however you want.

What’s more important, Gods revelation to Paul or the validation or appointment by MAN?

Like I said, Paul throws a wrench into your whole argument

All prophets were chosen by god and had some experience that made them know God and take up a prophetic mission.

You judge them how you want.

Jesus says you know them by their fruits
That’s how I know

Not by what some church leadership organization who has a “title” or position tells me

I’m just going 100% off common sense

Speaking from my own experience

I trust God not man.

it’s all in the Bible if you just understand it. Big picture.

I feel like you’re trying to deify scripture, cherry pick and use it as a weapon to prove your point or your personal position when it comes to IVY and to gatekeep “preaching of the gospel”

When reality anyone can go out there and preach and the rest is up to GOD for the message to reach ears, hearts and change lives

Read some of the parables of Jesus on the kingdom of God

Try to understand the Bible message and not use random scriptures to promote your denominational religious beliefs in today’s society or modern “church culture”

Im not here to argue with other Christians

do you believe Abraham preached to the Chaldeans?

do you disbelieve Paul (he met Jesus in a vision and was not an original apostle)?

you do know the apostles didnt necessarily write the gospels either

Mark 16:15

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

I think @Sunalmighty is confusing “preaching the gospel” and the “church”(body of Christ) with being a “pastor” over a congregation and leading a church organization which includes running a brick and mortar building/organiaztion which is under another larger organization and group of pastors

All of the above is good and understandable and serves it’s purpose today to suit man’s needs, but that has nothing to do with any Christians ability to step outside or even make a video on social media preaching the good news of Jesus Christ death burial resurrection and forgiveness of sins as Jesus commanded his followers

This is just common sense if you read the Bible otherwise people wouldn’t do it!

Happy Easter everyone! :blessed:

happy easter to you too

that said, Paul technically started the "formal church" from my perspective

Jesus didnt start his own church, he said to love the LORD your God with all your heart mind and soul.
