If a 2nd year QB can produce the same numbers from his rookie season, he's made progress.

He'll have his good games and some below-average games with a few mistakes here and there, but that's what 2nd year QBs do. Especially when they have no #1 WR.

He's light years ahead of Jake Locker's sorry ass, so I'll take it lol

This sure is one ugly ass game. Jags have really regressed.

Bortles looking like his hairline.

Looking like a flashback of D. Carr on the lions

Teams have figured out that Bortles can't handle the blitz.

They also don't have much of a run game, so they stink.:ld:
Bortles mind is rattled

Yea, not too many QB's gonna be successful without a running game. Bortles looking very frustrated though. Like he's unraveling.

Yup literally like D. Carr

Mariotas getting better i hate the playcalling they need to let him slang it

Play calling is trash and too predictable but it's kinda working I guess....

Not really: Mariota is terrible against good defenses and rips apart poor defenses. The Jags defense is more tired than poor. Bortles cannot stay on the field and Mariota is taking advantage of an exhausted defense. When Mariota plays against good defenses, he hardly completes half his passes.
Jags are a top 10 defense... it could have been a defensive game. MariGOATa and Murray just did better
I dunno - his game before this was Miami, which doesn't really have a "bad" passing defense, and he pulled 90+ QBR in that one too.

Even that first game against Minnesota, which has one of the best defenses in the NFL, wasn't so much a bad game as it was just two really bad plays. Take out the pick and the fumble, and he's completed a lot of passes at a 60% rate for a lot of yards and a couple of TDs in that game.

Mariota basically had a 3-game sophomore slump, and now looks like he might be getting more comfortable. I think the real test comes when he faces teams for the 2nd time this season.
I think a big contributing factor to those first 3 games also was the fact that Wright was out with injury...

Any one where H. Douglas is at?

I chose sleep over even attempting to watch this, did I make the right call?

Also they gotta break up the AFC South, that division is an abomination :scust:

What would be a good way to realign shyt?

AFC South - CAR/TB/MIA/JAX

NFC South - HOU/DAL/NO/ATL

AFC North - CIN/CLE/TENN/IND

AFC East - NE/NYJ/BUF/PITT

NFC East - PHI/WSH/NYG/BAL

All the regional shyt would be kept and the NFC North and both West divisions could stay the same.

david carr played for the lions ? :dahell:

anyhow I dont see the carr comparison at all

carr was behind literally a makeshift oline for a new expansion team and was getting sacked like 70 times a year, without being able to put together any good years
bortles had a pretty decent year last year aside from a bit too many picks with 35 tds. hes on pace to get sacked only 34 times this year and their oline has been middle of the pack solid this year.

hows he 'rattled' ? more like teams adjusted to his style of play and he hasnt made improvements to his play. hes already a crappy decision maker and had issues with mechanics and accuracy. he was getting by with his big arm and a-rob breaking out last year. this year arob is also not playing well and bortles faults are clear.

Their right tackle is out I believe. My point is is bortles is a decent qb but he looks shook just like how Carr did that's why I use the comparison. Not really the o line fault but he looks shell shocked. He's way better than Blaine Gab but he's not playing like it

I just dont see it. I think hes playing like his usual self- thats the problem actually. he himself doesnt know whats wrong. hes a habitual risk-taker with his throws, but his accuracy never supports the notion that he should be taking all those risks

now I know people on this board for some reason love big armed qb who arent scared to throw deep and 'have fun out there' aside from :smugfavre:, but that shyt isnt the norm. last year arob was able to take few throws into double coverage and bring them down, this year they become incompletes and turnovers

the only thing I think hes shellshocked from is that his usual style of play isnt working anymore, and he completely doesnt know what to do about it.
