It is true. I heard the hype of rice and peas and then I saw the blanded looking white rice. No coloring at all.

Trinis and Haitians have their rice looking pristine. The patties though

I don't know about the entire Jamaican cuisine but I know they got some great food. We had a international food day on Tuesday at work and there's a bunch of islanders at my job. Jamaicans, Haitians, etc. Had a bunch of different rice and chicken. I'm talking jerk chicken, curry chicken, everything, even ox tail. They asked what type of chicken I want, I said give me all of them.

Definitely fukking with y'all Jamaicans when it comes to your cooking.
