Has nothing to do with how good he is. He’s a good player but he doesn’t play a position or style that moves the needle in terms of wins and losses and having to pay 20 mill a year in a hard cap league.

Even when he was playing well early last year the Seahawks were playing numbers wise legendarily bad defense.

Seahawks gave up all their assets draft wise and cap space wise on him as if he’s the missing piece to a super bowl who can put you over the top

He cant
The Jets traded him for a guard.

The Jets traded him for a guard.

which will help protect their young QB which is worth its weight in gold and you don’t have to pay him 20 mill a year next year

They also have another first coming next year from the trade

He’s a safety he simply doesn’t matter much

in a hard cap league there are only a few positions you can give premium money to.

Safety sure as hell isn’t one of them

The Jets didn't use this logic when David DeCastro was there in 2012 and took Quinton Coples instead

The Jets didn't use this logic when Gabe Jackson was there in 2014 and took Dexter McDougle instead

The Jets didn't use this logic when Cody Whitehair was there in 2016 and took Christian Hackenberg instead

The Jets didn't use this logic when Quenton Nelson was there in 2018 and moved up to take Sam Darnold instead

Why? Because any time a guard got suggested as an option for the Jets who have had shyt at that position since Moore/Faneca, the reaction was always, "ugh isn't that a little high for a guard?" Now that the Jets move up for one it's "hey don't you know how important guards are?" The Jets are the last ones to figure out anything, but what can you expect? They still can't figure out a kicker, let alone a quarterback.

Safety in a perfect world isn't the most valuable position, but you know who it's more valuable for? Teams who don't give a fukk about offense. That's why Prez was your best player and still would be your best player.

Completely different regimes. Sounds like you’re the one not using logic right now. :francis:

Past regimes have absolutely nothing to do with this one.

The Browns were losers till they weren’t. The Chiefs didn’t win a super bowl till they found a QB.

Maybe the Jets found their QB gm and coach? Who knows but I’m not gonna throw them all under the bus already because of past regimes

I know you loved Jamal but there is no scenario where paying a safety 20 mill a year is justified. it cripples you financially in a hard cap league.

In the grand scheme of things he didn’t matter much to wheter or not the Jets won games just like he doesn’t matter much in Seattle.

You're right. Left out Will Sasso's fukk up last year.

Jonah Jackson was there in round 3, played 90% of Detroit's snaps and they took that forever special teamer Ashtyn Davis instead just to be petty towards Maye (and that might not end well either)

Shane Lemieux, started 9 games for the Giants. The Jets took a backup QB older than the scrub ahead of him, and before you say, "hey wait, they did take a guard. They took Cameron Clark." That guy at this rate is never gonna see the field. He drafted two guys who will never take a snap and the other dude he took in the 4th y'all only drafted him because he dragged Prez in college on his back for a first down and he might get cut too. Way to go Sasso

Don't you think there's a reason the Jets have had 4 GMs the past 10 years?

Nah he has all the leverage. They traded 2 1'st for him.

Seattle was dumb. You only do that for a CB or a pass rusher on defense.
Most he can do is hold out till week 6 and he aint doing that. Chancellor only held out 2 weeks. If he hold out all year then this year does count as a year played and it start all over next year.

And he was excused for personal reasons so this is a non story

nobody hits on every or even most picks especially in the middle rounds

I haven’t liked everything he’s done but for the most part I like his vision and really like what he did in the draft this year

time will tell

You know for a fact he's not going to play until they make him the highest paid S in the league.

Good luck with that :sas2:
