Millions of people watch the NBA and millions more watch football. The way you NBA hating/NFL operatives talk is like if you don’t have football viewership you have nothing. Which makes no sense. It’s like shytting on a guy worth 30b’s for not being worth 200.

Another angle is that not everyone will watch every game. People might catch a game per week, meaning that the viewership is spread out on a lot more games.
