it's not simply that he had a brilliant mind
and it's not simply that he knew how to turn a phrase
it's that in addition to all that, he was a marvelously riveting orator,
You just don't want him to stop talking once he starts
The man had so much swag:banderas:
The poor black babies today have no idea what they are missing out on by only listening to little wayne:mjlol:.......:mjcry:

For all the shyt Twimmy (@theworldismine13 ) gets about the "voice" of hip hop and its effects on youth, particularly black (and brown)...re:poor, IMHO there is some credence to be given to the lack of a positive voice (and perhaps the overabundance of a negative one) in the lives of the youth of today

Coming back to this thread...if I could meet anybody in history for a conversation I think it'd be James Baldwin.

:wow: How sad is it that The Coli spends more time on what it hates about
black culture than what it likes ? Or at least what represents the ideals that
some claim to be striving for.
If there is anyone individual that did this, it is surely James Baldwin.

:blessed:
I've got James on the phone right now.
:myman: @ This recommended reading.
