i got put on to James Blake way back when he just had the EP out with grey cover and the little black horse on it and i been listening to him since, i'll be the first to tell you son is as overrated as any artist thats came out in the last ten years but......i liked this one.

:wow:

On that note, the album is pretty eh:ld:. It's more lively than his previous work, but missing the things that made his previous albums flames:whew:. I may have to spin this a few times but so far it's a 3/5 from me.

The Color of Anything>>>>>James Blake>>>>>new album>>>>>Retrograde

Exactly this. You could tell the celebrity influence on it. Felt too neat. I haven’t finished the album yet, but The Color In Anything was an instant favorite from the first track. I’m disappointed

Even on "I'll Come Too", Blake was basically telling the label that he's going to do him regardless. It's like the album had two directions: his way and the label. Bottom line, I'm just treating the album like a glorified b side, rather than a complete album:francis:

Upon further listens this album's worse than I initially thought (it's down to a 5 from 7). Finding happiness (&fame) looks to have been a killer.

Entirely selfish but I hope he finds his girl fukking his homie, need that old James back :yeshrug:

I'm putting at an 8.5 right now, opening track and closing track could've been better

I really enjoyed this album, and I'm not at all a James Blake fan. I feel like a lot of tracks on his older albums become too abstract and kinda rough to listen to. This album was definitely easier to digest.
