As someone else said, I'd rather them just create a new franchise and have it revolve around Idris.

At first I was all for this idea. But now, not so much. In fact, I agree with Michelle Rodriguez (only for this convo) that instead of race-bending they should just create new characters.

Plus making James Bond black is a lazy way to achieve diversity. Never been a fan of race and gender swaps. I'd like to see them introduce him as another agent in the next Daniel Craig film and then spin it off.

If I were a writer I'd have Idris debut as a character in the next Bond film and then spin him off. In the next film, the SIS learn that a former Russian bio-engineer is creating technology in order to fund an organization called Sharun (loosely based on Isis). Sharun is implanting a device in middle eastern immigrants in order to create sleeper cell agents which they have been doing for the past 15 years. During the royal wedding the Russian diplomat creates a device that knocks out the power in London and activates the sleeper agents in order to create a caliphate in the UK and overthrow the queen.
