james brown made the blackest music ever. you cant get blacker than james brown music. that shyt is pure unfiltered american black excellence. so many cats took form him. sly stone, george clinton, miles davis, prince, mj etc. even cats like fela.
and we not even reached his performance ability. dude was also the most electrifying performer ever. looked like a lightning fast power punching boxer up there going for hours. and he was gangsta befor gangsta rap. you could tell he was a grown ass man in a world of sissy boys making music.
startime is a cd everyone should own, its a best of so to say, but really. i cant speak highly enough of dude.
