I just listened to the whole thing and he is "very impressed" with Josh Shapiro & thinks that Dems might win if they went more sport games. Zero policy analysis other than saying he doesn't like open borders and talking about trans people -- neither of which were features of Biden/Harris 2024.

Lots of folks like to call out "elites" who are out of touch, but Smith talking for 30 min without mentioning a single economic issue feels pretty out of touch to me.

[Quoted tweet]
Stephen A. Smith tells an important truth: Democratic Party leadership shoves shytty presidential nominees down voters' throats because they hate primaries.

 SMITH: "Y'all are too busy trying to pick candidates for the American people instead of listening to the American people tell you who they want. The last Democrat that the American people told you they wanted was Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton, it's her turn. Bernie Sanders had momentum — but it's Hillary's turn. Joe Biden captured momentum because representative Clyburn got involved in South Carolina, saved his behind, but it's really, really his turn.

 Okay. He has no business running for reelection, but everybody went for it. Knowing he was supposed to be transitioning. He's going to be 81 years of age. Then you sit up there. He doesn't have a primary. Then he goes on the debate stage, embarrasses himself. Then y'all still let him take three damn weeks to walk away instead of getting the hell out there immediately.

 So you can see if there's somebody other than Kamala Harris who could be the democratic nominee. Then she gets the nomination and everybody wants to act like she's the rock star. All of y'all wanted all along. Oh my God, let's throw up our hands and just to say, Hey, she is the one when you know, good and damn well, that wasn't the truth.

Me too. But zionists fired me from the platform from which I could reach guests like this, so I'm not optimistic.

@anthonyzenkus
Josh "those pro-Palestinian students remind me of the KKK" Shapiro?

@ZeynabDay
Yup. If you listen to the whole thing, it's just another liberal. Even if part of his analysis of unpopular candidates being hand-selected by the party is correct.

Democrats obsess over policy but lack the ability to inspire at scale. Degreeism has made regular people resent the system, seeing it as elitist. Meanwhile, sports—our biggest vehicle for social cohesion—gets dismissed. You can’t push optimal policy without unifying people first.

Stop giving these people more attention than they deserve. we need to be focusing on what the Grassroots is doing. What's happening in the states. In terms of what ballot measures are citizens pushing for the next two years. That's where the change is going to happen. Later for these want to play politicians. Matter of fact I would like to introduce you to Cynthia Brown of the Ohio LED coalition to abolish qualified immunity @TheOCEQI they are working on a citizen initiated Constitutional Amendment that would be ratified into the Ohio Constitution by the voters to end qualified immunity. Have her on your show because at the end of the day the only thing that matters that who was going to change anything in this country is going to come from the bottom up not the top down by some millionaire who want to play politician and think that they're talking for us

@JohnnyAkzam
