Can't sere Cignetti leaving Indy. Same conference, money is starting to come in with the wins, and he's not following anybody or anything at Indiana. He's writing his own script and legacy in real time game by game. Indy will match or improve on whatever anybody tries to throw at Cig.
He'd leave for Michigan or OSU but probably nobody else

Stanford is not Vanderbilt. If anything, Stanford is borderline Ivy League with the admissions standards. And Stanford money is LONG. REALLY long. Their boosters are worth BILLIONS.
They’re near peers. Let’s not act like Vandy is Independence Community College. And Stanford boosters don’t a give a shyt about football. They just got that one guy to donate some serious money but unless he is Phil Knight, it’s not changing a damn thing. They have boosters who fund their Olympic sports for dolo. I say he’s going there because of his time at two upper echelon academic universities (and I’m stretching it calling Penn State upper echelon, it’s more respected than top tier).

It's well past the point where you can wave around his win/loss record. He's not a good coach and his teams are regularly outmatched when playing similar competition levels. And it's clear the team simply gave up this year the minute they realized it wouldn't be a cake walk back to the playoffs. Oregon loss was predictable for the reasons mentioned...he wasn't going to get fired over that. But to lose to a god awful UCLA team and then have zero passion against a meh team yesterday? Nah.

I'm sure he'll go somewhere with less expectations and a big NIL bag, where he'll win 8-10 games a year and fail to win any big games or conference titles.
We'll see how Franklin does with another program. He'll get another P4 next season. He didn't win big games but he deserved to have one down year imo. For all we know, Penn State could be cursed after Sandusky and he did his best to put them back into national contention but the demons were just too great. Florida, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, VT, WV, Wisconsin, Arkansas, etc. will be open. He's going to land somewhere next year. He's good.

they are hoping the private equity big ten deal happens so they can pay the buyout, stadium, players and THEN hire a coach.

very good chance they hire a non-home run hire at coach like matt rhule.
Franklin wasn’t a home run. They will be alright
