Locksley was a loser at New Mexico State and got canned from there.
It’s New Mexico. Who is winning there? And tbh, him putting hands on his staff and it being known, the DUI incident and the sexual harassment EEOC complaint was what got him ran out of there more than anything. The losing just gave the admin cover.

Titles? He won one title, a fluke one where he got blown out by Michigan by 39 points and beat Ohio State on a block field goal touchdown. There’s a reason Ohio State was selected to the playoffs and Penn State wasn’t despite them winning the conference because nobody believed they were the class of the Big Ten. The real championship was played in Columbus that year.

4-17 vs Michigan and Ohio State. And a host of other things. That’s why he was fired. Real greaseball shyt.

Also he made the expanded playoffs.

Penn State ain’t Nebraska. Penn State is in fertile recruiting territory with access to both the Midwest and East Coast. Double the endowment and far larger alumni base and regularly recruits in the top 15.

I totally understand why they feel they can be better than a resume builder for the top big ten teams. His offensive lines were always awful. He has ruined so many quarterbacks that were NFL level.

I'm not saying be didn't deserve to be fired. I said he has won big games before.

DIdn't think the AD would pull the trigger but yeah.... it was time.

Life changes on a dime, if they pull out the Oregon game they might have been ranked #1 and that was only 3 weeks ago. To go from that to fired is crazy work

To keep it a buck, they really only hired him to divert the attention from the pedo disgrace of the Paterno era. PSU doesn't strike me as hiring a black coach ever. It was a long overdue firing though. The lack of ability to beat any top teams is not going to fly in NCAAF. I do see him landing another job somewhere.

PSU better go all in and hire Curt Cignetti. Dude is a beast. Takes trash teams and makes them contenders.

He's in his mid 60s so I dunno if he'd wanna start all over again. He just signed an extension no? I don't think it comes down to $$$, Cuban is an IU alum and can probably kick in

I mean I think PSU has talent so it wouldn't be like starting from the bottom. But they need a splash hire.

Wasn't Bill O'Brien the first coach after Paterno?

TYRONE GA!
The early leaders in the clubhouse are Matt Rhule ( :scust: ), Matt Campbell (:laff: ) and wildcard Fran Brown (:mjlol:)

you laugh, but Fran might be what they need.

I don't see Cignetti leaving. Now that IU has a taste of winning in FB, I can see them opening that checkbook. Mark Cuban probably already been contacted. :pachaha:

I think and can see Cignetti as a darkhorse to Bama for some reason if ya boy flounders. Especially already having coached there under Saban

in the nil you dont really start over but dude has like a top 5 team in the country and is getting paid 8 mill a year, plus like you mentioned he's 64. Even if he goes to penn state , dude might be coaching for only a few more years
