They did that already with Aquaman though right? He was known to the public but he was still a joke. I think casting Jason Momoa helped with that too. I think Wonder Woman got bumped too but she was already a pop culture icon for older generations.

Anyways here's to hoping DC puts out

Gotta be The Prestige back in 06. But I don't need my movies to be more substance over style tho. Inception and Interstellar were an excellent blend of both. That's why Interstellar is my second favorite Nolan joint. I get your point point tho.

Aquaman was just in a favorable situation. Black Panther showed the power of representation, Infinity War created a huge market that year for comic book films and the MCU left holiday 2018 empty that year for Aquaman to ride their wave. Aquaman got lucky.

The sequel being pushed back a whole year, is not exactly a ringing endorsement of any sustained popularity. We'll see what happens going forward. MCU is empty Christmas 23 again so who knows.

To my original point I'd like to see someone like Vixen make the jump to superstardom.

I doubt he’s writing every project.

plus he’s running his own section of Peacemaker/SS universe.

Probably like a showrunner going over scripts and proposals.
