Damn. DC and Marvel are switching places.

Last few DC joints been solid to great.

Last few Marvel joints been mid to brown frown.

Whereas DC seems to be consolidating, Marvel is spreading out to the point where the "shared universe" is feeling compartmentalized.

I wonder what DC is going to do about major films like Black Adam flopping. Are they worried about Shazam 2?

did it flop?.. unless u believe Eternals and Black Widow flopped too. Superhero origins post Covid have been a tougher sell than they once were.

i don't see Gunn having everything tie together at all times. it's a multiverse so u can have Reeves Batman saga and Joker and other things exist but not have to tie to an overall arc.

Yeah I consider those flops on top of being bad movies. But even they are roughly 100 million higher than Black Adam.

Black Adam really doesn’t have more room to grow either since they still can’t get a China release and Black Panther drops this weekend.

You mean like comics do
No I mean that for a while DC was abandoning that shared universe between movies and just making separate continuities that had nothing to do with each other. Then The Flash made it look like they might revisit that idea again. Now they're pretty much confirming it.

:dahell: it's gonna do another $100M WW regardless of BP2 releasing.. so yeah it's gonna be in the same ballpark as those other movies.

Black Adam was a flop. It was not a very good movie. It was entertaining in some parts but seemed thrown together. You'd expect more for how long it's been in development. The Rock doesn't deserve to get to call his own shots after how this performed.

No it wasn't a flop. It's already done $120 million over it's budget worldwide. If you said they spent half the $200 million budget on advertising which I doubt then it was profitable and will remain so going forward.
