I don't mind this take, I like different tones with different characters. Like in the comics. Each character corresponds to their own genre usually. Batman is often portrayed in a Noir Detective thriller style in the comics. Which they did pretty well in the most recent batman movie, Wearwolf By Night is supposed to be classic horror, which they did well in the recent special.Yep, I'm tired of "superhero movies that aren't trying to be superhero movies"
Then, just go make that non-superhero movie then
I hate when they act like comic books movies are a genre in themselves and ignore the character. Saying the movie is comic booky as if that makes any sense. Its why so many comic movies have the same tone as ghostbusters these days. And every character is Bill Murray.

I never said anything about characters not having "different tones" or whatever you're saying. Also, in the comics, Batman doesn't have one particular tone.
Anyway, my point is that I'm tired of creatives wanting to make movies that just so happen to have superheroes in them vs. making SUPERHERO movies. There's a difference.

Except regarding your batman comment, i will say comicbooks characters have all sorts of writers. So while yes. you can also find a different tone for anyone. They have a primary tone that is usually overarcing and the most consistent.
I mean technically i read a comic once the portrayed Werewolf by night as a comedic romance story, But at his core is was introduce as, and generally retold as a horror characters. Same with the worlds greatest detective. He is detective noir at his core.
Sure, but the point still stands that Batman doesn't have one particular tone in the comics (or in any other medium).

Yes, but mostly minor roles and straight-to-DVD stuff in the past lol. James Gunn has given her the biggest roles in her career (The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3).
She's also 21 years younger than him. Gunn could be her dad
