You're telling me Knicks fans weren't ready to throw Anthony under the bus last year? Or arguing whether or not not they're better without him?

:what:

I've seen the Knicks this year several times, they're just not as good as their record indicates... the Raptors recently beat them, twice. That wouldn't happen with Houston.

:what:

Harden is just flat out more efficient, all bias aside. His TS% is up there with the gods, and his usage rate is relatively low compared to other "stars"

:snoop:

You are aware that Carmelo has the most ridiculous usage rate in the league..3 points HIGHER than Kobes usage rate! He makes Kobe look like Lebron, ball sharing wise. Melo has the highest usage rate in the entire league, by far........ so how would Harden not average 26 + points on NY? Doesn't make any sense...

The differences between their USG-rates are miniscule if you were to re-calculate the formula as:

individual free throw attempts = 0.5 instead of 0.44
team free throw attempts = 0.5 instead of 0.44
pace were taken into account with FGAs

That's why you're never gonna get an even close to accurate reading of their usage rates, if both of their teams don't have relatively the same pace, personnels and structure. If you watch both the Knicks and Rockets play, it isn't hard to see that they have about the same amount of ball touches (Harden probably more, due to bringing up the ball and starting the offense).

It makes a whole lot of sense that he wouldn't average 26 PPG on the Knicks. Harden's current game isn't tailored for half-court basketball, the Knicks are a half court team. Harden benefits from playing on a fast paced team (1st in the league) and the Knicks are a slow paced team (25th in the league); his flaws more would be more noticeable, although he'd have one thing weighing in his favor, in that the Knicks are a high-3pta team.

His fastbreak points would be significantly cut down: Houston are 2nd in the league and New York are 2nd to last in the league. Plus they wouldn't have the amount of success if you were to replace Melo with Harden, it'd be an imbalance on offense.

Felton/Kidd
Harden/JR Smith/Shumpert
White/Novak/Copeland
Copeland/Martin/Stoudemire (injured)
Chandler/Thomas

No balance whatsoever in backcourt/frontcourt scoring and Harden/Smith couldn't co-exist on the court. Harden's 3pt% would drop being in a slower pace + he has virtually no midrange game at all, only shooting 35% on jumpers and would likely drop with more takes + wouldn't have enough touches of the ball, due to pace and cluster of greater wing personnel touches + wouldn't average 10+ free throws on the Knicks - to avg 26 PPG.

Picture the Knicks winning 38 games so far, if they had a starting PF/C combination of: Rasheed Wallace, Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, Chris Copeland, Marcus Camby and Kurt Thomas.

Lebron.. seriously, since he came in the lg its not about just ppg nomore, its what else does he do...

What I Dont Get Is People Will Spend 2 Hours Till Their Blue In The Face Saying Melo Aint Seeing Lebron And How LeBron Is Superior But Then Question Every Night Why Isnt Melo Having LeBron Like Assists And Court Vision

Well If Melo Isnt On His Level Why Are We STILL Comparing It?

Melo Is Not, Never Has Been, And Never Will Be A Facilitator Who Can Run PG If Asked

So All This Assist Talk Is Pointless

Yeah i understand what your saying... but lebrons like the golden standard for forwards statistically ... so if you have players that ppl will say one of the best in the game especially another forward then thats where the lebron comparisons will come... it is what it is

I'd Take melo over harden. Melo is a better scorer, rebounder and he sells more tickets. Plus in the nba you always go for size unless you have a really great reason not to.

Disgusting that this is even a comparison. Melo is 10x the player. :scusthov:
So that's why Harden has better season stats? :pachaha:

Melo is better because he had ONE good game?

You nikkas kill me. Melo is struggling to shoot above 40% for the season, but yeah he is better. :dead:

Breh you don't know shyt about hoops. Harden is shooting 24% on jumpers.

You could see the difference in their games tonight when they're side-by-side. One dude showed just about every single offensive move to get his points whereas the other just flopped about looking to get sent to the foul line. This is not even close to a debate, Melo is leaps and bounds a better player. Anybody that tries to say any different is flat out wrong.

I agree. Harden has one of the worst games for a high scoring player I've ever seen.
