That's not the argument I'm making at all. I am talking about Roy asking players to return, who would have been drafted higher had they not returned. Coach K simply does not do that. The only guy in the last 10 years that that happened to was Kyle Singler. Whenever a player is ready to go, Coach K tells them to go.
There were rumors of him possibly going top 10, those would have changed once he worked out for teams. He wasn't ready for the NBA, Roy told him that.

Come on breh. Look he isn't NBA material: everyone knew that. But at the very least he would have been drafted and got some kind of guaranteed contract

I don't think he would've been a lottery pick after workouts breh. He could've been a top 20 pick last year but HE chose to stay. HE made the decision to stay 3 years, if he wanted to leave and felt like he was ready, he woulda been gone.

yeah, roy and his infamous "nba connections" that he always uses to assess UNC prospects. it's funny how all carolina players are somehow never "ready" for the league according to roy's inside connects...despite EVERYONE else having them projected as lottery picks. roy's idea of assessing his players NBA prospects is prolly calling MJ and asking him if he'll pick them with the bobcats annual top 3 pick.

roy is such a shameless fukk when it comes to begging players and giving them misinformation about leaving for the NBA. you never hear stories about all the other coaching legends fukking over players like you do about roy and even the biggest UNC dikkrider can't deny that.

He signed with the Golden State Warriors for summer league.

James Michael McAdoo was supposed to be a big NBA prospect just two years ago, however he waited until the 2014 NBA Draft and never heard his name called on Thursday night. That hasn’t deterred his NBA dream though, as reports indicate McAdoo will join the Golden State Warriors as a free agent.

In the upcoming summer league. The former North Carolina Tar Heel will have a familiar face around him, as Harrison Barnes is also a member of the Warriors team.

McAdoo averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in his junior season at North Carolina. He was one of the most hyped players coming out of high school as well, being named a McDonald’s All-American.

In his freshman season McAdoo sprang on to the national stage, averaging 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in limited minutes during the 2011-12 season.

He became a full-time starter for the Tar Heels the next year and averaged 14.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while playing 29.9 minutes per game.

After going undrafted, some questioned the decision of McAdoo to wait two more years to head to the NBA, passing up lottery pick status for continuing to play at the collegiate level.

He’ll be given the chance to prove himself this summer, and that’s all an undrafted player can ask for.

JMM & his family knew the talk about him going top 10 after his freshman season. He and his parents made a decision for him to stay and improve so he could last in the league. Obviously he wasn't very good and it showed, but he still had the chance to be a 1st rounder last year and chose to stay again, only to enter one of the most loaded drafts in years this year. Bob McAdoo, asst coach for the Heat, is family of JMM. You don't think they talked or his family got any info from him?

This shyt about Roy is played. Why hasn't Roy's "begging" cost anyone else whose stayed 3 years from getting drafted? Once again, JMM and his family felt he wasn't ready and they made a decision, Roy didn't hold a gun to his head.

perry jones got out after a year though, the longer you stay in the college the more holes and less potential you have.

Nah, Perry did two years but he should've came out after his 1st year. If he left after his freshman year he probably would've been a top 5 pick, but he waited a year and then ended up barely being a 1st round pick.

He should have left after his freshman year. If Roy knew he wasn't that nice and was projected to go top 10..tell the guy to leave and get paid. Even if he's sorry in the league at least he would've got paid. Now what does he have?
