Might have been label politics. Wasnt Janet on either a Shaggy or a Shabba Ranks song and the label at the last minute wouldn’t let her do the video so they had to basically cut a whole new version of the song?

Why did you skip the song

well i guess the beginning didn't do it for me with the flexatone at the start and the velvet rope intro with the synth as well but ya know maturation comes with time and mabye the music gods was waiting for me to grow some more before i tuned in

but when i did......ain't been the same since

i never skip those two anymore, i play them at parties occasionally and they always hit
