I was thinking about this the other day and i realized that they would be fine if they just exported key areas of their economy and kept the management portions in japan. Outsourcing would fix the labor issues. Keep only enough jobs for your own populace within national borders and just export the rest. The money from the foreign labor flows back home. Why not have other nations make up for the absense of your own young people?

Also, i think the senior crisis could be fixed by paying your elderly to go retire abroad. It would fix the healthcare aspect of elder care, and even the pension issues because the dwindling pensions would still support your populace wonderfully in those ASEAN nations.

I think this is the only way for them to mainstain their own inherently japanese-ness and keep out immigrants.

I would hate to berate them on a value system they have no intention of abandoning, so i think this solutions oriented mindset, that works within their belief systems, is a better fix than finger wagging at them about immigration.
:patrice: What country is going to want to take on Japan’s elderly that aren’t going to work anymore? They’ll become a burden to the new country

The leaders of the country only have themselves to blame. They shoulda been making changes decades ago. Subsidize young families. Stop making it difficult for young men to afford a family.

Stop expecting young men to work 80 hours a week and not get paid overtime and having to work at a company for decades before they can get a promotion.

This isn't just limited to Japan and its Western allies but also BRICS. Japan as we know it is done and you'd better visit now while it is still a vibrant country.

At least in the West however they are open to let immigrants flood above replacement level. BRICS in general is hitting a demographic cliff and are more closed off. Throw in climate change that will put certain BRICS countries at odds (Russia/China, China/India) once resources like water become more scarce and its odd they have such a fan club on here.

The culture is pretty xenophobic so bushing Japan is not gonna work for the vast majority.

However the one's who are willing will and are doing that already Bumguardner Hospital in Thailand is one of the best in the world.. Koreans are all over the Phillipines etc.

They already low key tried Outsourcing with the Japan Inc. of the 80's. The problem there is adapting to local business cultures and Labor laws.

South Africa is so immigrant heavy that there's riots against them. South Africa won't have a demographic problem for quiet some time. Even Brazil is doing a ok on the babby making front.

this the same folks who in the past would try to force their enemies to commit suicide

if you feel that way about folks not that far related to you then just imagine what that energy has done over the years
