Went to Tokyo and Kyoto last year with a couple friends. Friends' mom lived there and had a business renting out houses and apartments and stuff and hooked it up with a free place to stay in Tokyo :blessed:

Food wasn't that expensive. Tax is added and all the prices are clean too :ehh: 100 yen, 200 yen, etc. all ending in 0's :wow:

I wanna stay for Like 2 weeks tops. How much should I save up

stayed for about 12 days in Tokyo and Kyoto. I got free housing so I can't say how expensive it was in Tokyo but I spent about $600-700 bucks (may have been less, I remember stuff was cheaper than I thought it'd be) through those days on food and train tickets mainly. Didn't really buy any souvenirs so :manny:

plane tickets, if you look early (like in March or April for a trip in August like I did) you can get $700 round trip

housing obviously adds more and if ur trynna take the bullet train to another city (like i did to kyoto) you either buy a rail pass online for foreigners or just buy the one way tickets there, probably adds another $100-200

peep air bnb for places to stay, shouldn't be too expensive for a small apartment in tokyo

But should I visit Japan alone?:patrice:

you'd still have a good ass time bc its a beautiful place with amazing food, sights, etc. but it'll be more fun if you go with at least 1 person :manny: language barrier is pretty big so you'd at least have someone to speak with in english :russ:

How long you there for? I could not get with the food (other than Mr Donut--formerly an American company--as well as chocolate)

If you have't already, go to Roppongi. A DJ put me onto game. Whether it's rap or salsa or rock, they have clubs there where the natives try to dip into other cultures. As you know the trains stop from 12a-5a. The trick is to go there for an all-nighter. Go to a club that you know the music, chicks will go to you, plus they want to practice their English on you. And there are hotels close-by. Just stay away from the aggressive Nigerians and the "massage parlors."

Heard they are a rip-off ala Pigalle in Paris.

Honestly I would:manny: I used to live in Okinawa so mabe the culture was different but I used to solo damn near every night. Women are super friendly and you can literally find a female to hang with for the whole day by just saying hi. Just tell them you need a tour guide.
