I'm seriously thinking about leaving everything behind and going to Japan for school. But first I might need to learn the language.
the problem is japan is so damn expensive, and I keep asking people if there's ways to save money/cut cost and it doesn't seem like it is. like LA is expensive, but there's ways and districts you can live in to save money. There's places you can hit up to save on groceries, walmart/99 cent store. You may need a car tho but other than that living in border areas of rich/hood, you can always find a deal. Tokyo seems like NY city on steroids. but the cool thing is you have a more futuristic city, and different culture.....and its a lot safer.I'm seriously thinking about leaving everything behind and going to Japan for school. Breh my Dominican ass hopped in a subway full Japanese people and found that shyt trying to decipher their that language.might have to check that out then, so long as its in tokyo. I dont think I have enough time to check out the surrounding cities/burbs.

Up to 60% of landlords will flatly deny renting to foreigners. They don't care if you've lived there for years and assimilated into the culture or speak fluent Japanese. If you're not their own, the barrier will ALWAYS exist.
Having said that, the younger Japanese probably are more accepting, what with the fervent appropriation of black culture.
If you live in Tokyo expect to live in an apartment the size of the room you grew up in.
Get some Nujabes records, and try to book a seat at Jiro's.

they forget to mention that you're gonna finish your meal in 30 minutes due to high demand, and apparently they are prejudiced to anyone who isn't japanese. reading some reviews, they literally said out loud, "no foreigners" to people that travelled for ages to eat there.Saw that Jiro doc.. Prices start at $300 per person![]()
