Japan has now put 100 passengers on a Maglev train doing over 500kph. That's well over twice as fast as the fastest U.S. train can manage, and that only manages 240kph on small sections of its route. The Japanese Shinkansen is now running over 7 times times as fast as the average U.S. express passenger train. 500kph is moving towards the average speed of an airliner. Add the convenience of no boarding issues, and city-centre to city-centre travel, and the case for trains as mass-transport begins to look stronger.

Japan, but from the 989
I rode the simulator for this at that JR train Museum in Nagoya. "At around 300km the train wheels will lift off the ground and be held in place with magnets"....I was like :dwillhuh: Then in the simulator when it hit that speed it went from rumbling to silence as if you were flying. I like that they are saying you can go from Nagoya to Tokyo in less than hour. That shyt is amazing! America needs to step their train game up.

A friend of mine took the maglev train from a Chinese airport to the city. I don't remember which city. It's a lot of money to build and operate it. Ten years from now, they are going to remove the magnets and haul those maglev trains with horses. :lolbron: Max Max Beyond Thunderdome status.

As for America, we can't reuse the regular train tracks so there's a big logistical issue with building a maglev track for a maglev train to go from say New York to Boston or New York to Washington DC.

I was searching about magnetic levitation and I stumbled upon this interesting video about the process. It's not really related to the train (though it's the same maglev process through supra-conductor magnets) but it's still fascinating.

Just watch from 3:22 to get your mind blown :wow:

It's absolutely pathetic that we are so far behind the curve on stuff like this in the states. Is that high speed train from the Bay to LA still gonna get built?

America is not the in business of innovating infrastructure anymore. :smh:

That's a damn shame. The public would really benefit from having a reliable fast rail line like the JR in Japan. The Bullet Train is nice but that Maglev is going to change the game. Come America get your shyt together.
