People have been dying for this Naito run and he's the most popular guy in the promotion not named Hiroshi Tanahashi. If you must put the belts on a Bullet Club guy, why not build to that match while you let Naito have his run? Just...come on already.

I don't even want to touch the dikk Togo thing. He's great, we all love him, and I'm sure he can still have good matches at 50 years old. But why the fukk is Gedo bringing in a 50 year old dikk Togo in the first place?

Ya'll might be mad at this but the reality is Naito looks like shyt out there....he's moving badly, in bad shape and his matches have dropped in quality. Just doesn't feel like he has the same momentum.

I wouldn't shyt on Gedo for this but he should be rightfully criticised for not giving Naito the title in 2018 against Okada. That was his time and his title win this year always felt like a consolation prize.

I could still see them do an arc of EVIL running through everyone in LIJ before Naito then wins it back but who knows.

Wouldn't say biggest fan but like everyone I wanted Naito to get proper respect and a proper run for being one of the most over guys in NJPW for years. And turning EVIL just made a lot of sense considering BC's current circumstances.

What makes no sense is to cut Naito's reign short again and have him lose through BC fukkery again (remember he originally lost the IC belt to Jay White in a match filled with Bullet Club interference as well).

I'm probably more upset by the insane lazy booking of Bullet Club which has consistently brought down actually great matches from the moment there is a ref bump. Which there always is in BC matches, without avail, because Gedo always uses the same lay-out for a BC title match.

That’s why you could hear a pin drop from the moment fake Bushi appeared to the end because after the first interference the crowd realized what was going to happen and just gave up right there and then.

If this was 3 years ago I would've been fuming, not gonna lie. But at this point I don't care like that anymore, I enjoy New Japan for what it is: some matchups that look dope on paper and normally deliver. Just like with WWE I don't think I'll ever stop checking out results and see how the company is doing, and for sure will watch if there's matches or angles that read interesting on paper (which sadly are fewer and fewer each year, except for the G-1 that 9 out 10 times has stuff that has to be seen). But caring about the booking when long time ago I realized Gedo found his comfort zone and will never get out of it? Nah, I'm way past that, shyt is just funny...and debating/arguing over it is fun too. Which is way I'm going to do end up writing a long ass post about what just happened

EVIL winning screams Nakanishi winning in 09'. Just like a decade ago, Gedo threw a monkey wrench to what was supposed to be a big title run for the most popular guy in the company after he won a huge match at WK (Tanahashi beating Mutoh for the belt after his invader run) and gave the strap to a dude as a big swerve because New Japan had to cancel Fantastica Mania. Now with the pandemic, he does this big swerve angle with EVIL. We'll see if this shyt has legs or if he'll give Naito and immediate rematch so he can get it back, just like Tana did in 09'. What's funny though is that after Tana got the belt back, he got injured and had to forfeit the belt and because of that, he had to wait till 2011 to get his legit big Ace run with the title. Naito wont have that kind of wait, as he already had it after WK 12

And of course, it's hilarious that the wrestler chosen for this spoiler role was EVIL and not Ishii. And if Gedo just wanted to force a BC/LIJ swerve, then fukking use Shingo, or even Sanada.



Regarding Togo. If they let him cook, he'll have the internet eating at the palm of his hands after a couple of months. Togo is fukking awesome and he'll be a nice asset if they let him do his thing.
