All logic in any other promotion in the world would say the title match in this situation would be Ibushi (former champ who hasn't had a rematch) vs Shingo (guy who put the champ out of action and necessitated the title being vacated). Okada is random as hell because he hasn't been doing shyt for a good year and a half now and is also fresh off of COVID. Although I do think Okada/Shingo is a better match than Ibushi/Shingo. The chemistry they had during the NJ Cup match was electric and the best Okada has looked in a match in a long, long time.

I have so many mixed feelings watching neck bumps, especially in old matches with cats like Misawa. I probably won’t ever stop watching entirely, but knowing how dangerous the sheerdrop head and neck bumps really are changes how I view some things.
