He's maybe the single best in ring talent in the world and has been for the better part of 2+ years. That guy is incredible and direct lineage from Rikidozan to Baba to Jumbo to Akiyama. America is never going to accept a foreign talent like that who isn't a fluent English speaker no matter how great they are as a true top level star level. Love being able to see him regularly in AEW. He should be the top guy carrying NJ right now in this new dark era. He could be the absolute top star of Japan without question and puro needs him a whole lot more than American wrestling needs him right now. He could be the savior, imo.

Yup, Takeshyta is the one exception where AEW being around is a detriment. He could be someone NJ could base their booking for 18-24 months while trying to steer the ship and slowly getting some buzz back.

But if I'm Takeshyta I'm in no rush for a full run in Japan. That's always going to be there and DDT fumbled his run like crazy so compared to working in AEW, Japan probably isn't as appealing at this point of his life

Been calling Takeshyta the guy for years now. He's my inflection point for caring about NJPW main event scene. When and if he's on top I'll be byke. None of this generation of NJ dojo guys have it imo. Got to import the ace for once(begrudgingly)and it's far and away the best choice. Should do the invader deal with Take until Nak comes thru to save the day.
