A very underestimated quote should have told
America to fukk off at the Plaza accord. Told them we are not touching the currency and we are not pouring more gasoline on the burning fire. They have never recovered from the spiral. Never! To be honest, dont think they ever can as well!

The same reason when America started talking about currency depreciation a decade ago with China was like oh really!:sas2:!

Yep.
When I learned about that plaza accord shyt and the usa deboing japan for their semiconductor/chip shyt :francis:

I know they have military bases in their country.. but shyt wasn't worth sacrificing their future. they definitely should have told the usa to fukk off.

and China was definitely paying attention to all of that. it's definitely one of the reasons China never went along

A lot of this is mental illness. Depression. Anxiety. Agoraphobia etc. a lot of smart people have depression and it kills your motivation, plus being introverted is devastating in a job market where knowing the right people is huge into getting the right jobs. The word networking makes my skin crawl. I’m headed down a good career path now, but I was lost for a long time.
Amen to that. If I wasn't a veteran I would have been fukked since I'm an introverty. I've had internships handed to me at a platter because government contractors love giving internships to former military . Now I just need to finish this computer engineering degree and I'm set:banderas:. But yea as someone who is introverted I woulda been fuked in the job market. This is also one of the main reasons why companies are starting to hire more women, they just better at people skills :yeshrug:. I'm actually seeing this play out in the tech sector. Companies would rather hire an average female developer compared to an average male developer because the former usually has better social skills or has a larger social network (knows more people):francis:.

We actually trying to do the same with China. That's why we told other countries not to buy 5g infrastructure from Huaiwei. We also choking Huawei from accessing semiconductors that they need to create chips for their 5g equipment and phones :francis:.
So now China has to develop thheir own Semicondutor industry (SMIC) in order to produce their own chips since we told others not to supply Huawei with chips. Same shyt different era.

Notice how you rarely see documentaries about the plaza accord. The media rarely covers that shyt, hell textbooks usually bring it up in one sentence and that's it.
70s and 80s Japan was honestly the most technologically advanced country at the time (and their economy reflected that).

A lot to love about Japan and it's people, such as their collectivist nature, but when that's contributing to their down fall... :mjcry:

A lot of posts regarding us heading in the same direction, and although I agree in a sense, I doubt our affected population will quietly, and peacefully accept their fate like the Japanese. Folks will either be turning to drugs, or (violent) protests as the situation further deteriorates. Hell, the current (docile) state of Japan may be a best case scenario for us :francis:
This is honestly one of the main reasons why the far right voices among poor Cacs has only grown louder. A lot of them are falling behind, so they try to place their blame on immigrants and/or minorities. It will only get worse. If one of those midwestern Cacs took at trip to Silicon valley and saw how good Asians live up here he would have a heart attack :francis:.

I actually watched Princes of the Yen on YouTube off the strength of this thread and to get a better idea of what went wrong

Fascinating the lengths America will go to sell foreign countries on the idea of free market capitalism and how it's going to take them to the "next level", only for American organizations to come in and rape the country (financially) for everything it's got once they let the devil in :wow:

Funny thing is the coli doesn’t sound to far off.

America in general isn’t because you’re kinda seeing the same shyt play out.

depending on this current recession this could very likely be millenials except you’ll see more single mothers and fathers stuck living with parents paying child support

We want "free market capitalsism" because it forces other countries to open up their economies to us. It gives us a larger market to sell our goods and services. Same reason why Mathew Perry was about to bomb the shyt out of Japan if they didn't open up their market to America (this is actually one of the main reasons why Japan became the first non white industrialized country). Mathew Perry pulled up and told them to open up their economy or else:demonic:. The Japanese saw what the British just did to China so they:damn: and let America into their markets. Japan ended up going through the meiji Restoration as a result of the fear they had:francis:. In the end the Meiji Restoration made Japan stronger:yeshrug:.
