I’m not sure how many in higher learning are fans of anime but there’s an anime called welcome to the NHK that touches deeply on hikkamori and neet culture
Pretty much in every slice of life manga I've read the characters either
Are heavily in debt (by them or someone else)
Work a part time job
Have no job
Study like mad in hs to get into a good college
Don't study shyt at all

Complain about the lack of jobs

Reading fictional mangas based on reality details japanese life very well

Not really, breh. welcome to the NHK describes Japanese NEETs. It's actually an accurate representation. Also, I wouldn't consider welcome to the NHK a slice of life anime. It's more of a psychological anime.

Oh I meant mangas in general not nhk I've still. To read that. I meant manga like isekais when the main character got a shytty life before crossing over or like harem mangas with a nerd that studies his ass off like the quintessential quintuplets

you sure about the drug issue... never hear anything like that coming from Japan.

Homelessness and some racism/nationalism sure:patrice:

as strict as japan is with its drug laws , there still exists an underground drug culture
