I’ve mentioned it before but seeing it first hand is wild. Business trips there to meet our Japanese counterparts and man…multiple young men whose day consists of the following:
4AM wake up
5AM get on train
7AM get off train
7:30AM prepare for work
8AM start work
8PM end work
9PM get on train
11PM get off train
12AM sleep
Should also note that their geography being so trash resource wise is big part of why they went so hard after Korea and China historically. They needed the land. Japan Korea history is so wild and fukked. There was actual a famous politician or writer iirc who said something in the early 20th century who said some shyt like if all these Asian countries in that area could just come together and be agreeable they'd be a crazy force but Japan especially feel like they're superior to everybody else in that neighborhood.
