Pau Gasol allowed himself to be a third option, and Bynum still ain't mature enough. Say what you want about Kobe, but Gasol isn't as aggressive on offense as Chris Bosh, and Bynum isn't as consistent on offense as Chris Bosh. There is no need to even bring up Wade. There's a reason why no one talked much about Gasol while he was with the Grizzlies. One of the most passive star players I've ever seen.

He can shoot 50 a game for all I care they just won't win when it matters. They didn't beat the Thunder when they had the advantage of two 7 footers because Kobe has to get up his shots.

Laker fans pinning all that shyt on their role players are crazy. Did you honestly think Westbrook wasn't going to destroy Ramon Sessions? People can't get into an offensive rhythm when 1 dude is jacking up 30-35 shots a game no matter how many rings he has.

He put up 30+ shots in one game that series

Shut the fukk up...I hate when people that dont watch the games comment like they have been...anybody that watched that series know that Kobe was NOT the reason they lost...all I hear is "he got 2 7 footers use them!"...well according to you guys one of the 7 footers a soft Euro that almost no one in the league would take and the other one shows up only half the time.....the worst part is, all I hear is "kobe cant win shooting like that"...them same cats try to bring up how poor he shot against the finals series he WON.....so if Kobe shot like shyt in the finals and they still won, and shot like shyt in round 2 of a finals they lost that oughta tell you something...

I hate when people swear up & down that their team is going to get a guy traded to them for a bag of chips & Pau Gasol, yet can't spell the dudes name right. It is Deron not Derron. :snoop:

anybody that watched that series know that Kobe was NOT the reason they lost

- Game 1 was a blowout.
- Game 2 Kobe went 9-25 for his 20 points, Bryant was 2-for-7 in the fourth quarter and was 0-for-5 with a turnover in the last five minutes of the game. Steve Blake got blamed though for missing a wide open 3.
- Game 3 Kobe went 9-25 but got 36 points because he shot 18-18 from the FT line. The only reason the Lakers won this game was because they went 41-42 from the FT line.
- Game 4 Kobe went 12-28 but once again his total looked good (38) because he went 14-17 from the FT line. Bynum made his first 6 shots, but the Lakers went away from him down the stretch and he finished 9-5 with 18 points & 9 rebounds. Bryant got to the FT line more than the entire OKC team through the first three quarters but then decided to just jack up shots.
- Game 5 the Lakers lost by 16 points but Kobe took 33 shots to get his 42 points.

So you can say Kobe isn't the reason they lost because he put up his numbers. But it is kinda hard for anyone else to get going when their all watching Kobe jack up shot after shot from long range, taking tough shots, or shooting over double teams.

well according to you guys one of the 7 footers a soft Euro that almost no one in the league would take and the other one shows up only half the time

I like Gasol, I (& probably most people) don't like his contract. Bynum has been around the team long enough that they should know he is immature. You keep looking for him & he'll keep playing. You go away from him he will probably disappear.

the worst part is, all I hear is "kobe cant win shooting like that"...them same cats try to bring up how poor he shot against the finals series he WON.....so if Kobe shot like shyt in the finals and they still won, and shot like shyt in round 2 of a finals they lost that oughta tell you something

Kobe has been around long enough that he shouldn't have that mentality, he should look at the match-ups & adjust his game. But he has to be the reason they won he has to get up his shots.

People still defending Pau Gasol? :heh:

Kobe shoots too much but he wasn't doing that under Phil...have to look at Brown and why he has Pau operating in the high post almost exclusively.

Kobe's the same player he was when LA won those chips, he shot alot and they still won.
Gasol and Bynum sucked in the Thunder series plus Westbrook ran through Sessions like 5 dollar smut /thread.

Kobe wasn't 33 when the Lakers won championships. He could get away with shooting more when he was younger and better. At this point, that kind of play is just not going to be as effective.

When guys like Jason Terry and Derek Fisher are assigned to D him up in single coverage in important moments of the playoffs, it's pretty obvious what is going on.
