No independent is winning because the system is designed where they can't win. A Democrat who people hated and jumped in at the last minute got 48.3% of the vote while Trump who has been running for president for a decade straight got 49.8%. Republicans no longer have the advantage of running as outsiders. It won't be a democrat. A lot of people won't believe me, but I think things will get so bad that an independent will win. If Bernie's health holds up he will either try one more time to run or he will try to oppose republicans in congress as a speaker in the house or senate.
Someone you haven't heard of will become so radicalized over the next 2 years that when 2028 rolls around they'll start small and build momentum with viral moment after moment. He will be media savvy, social media aware, and most important of all: he will not have the baggage of being someone who is part of the professional managerial class. He will be able to comfortably and easily criticize both democrats and Republicans. He will know how to get aggressive and he will tap into the anger of people who want relief from what trump has done to them, but also a government that does more than give billionaires and military contractors their tax money. Whenever someone runs on a platform of significant change and names enemies and promises to punish them, they always get motion.
The democrat brand is essentially in the toilet because on the federal level, the leadership is completely out of touch with the day to day realities of voters since they're more focused with talking to consultants and rich donors.
Its the difference between the CEO of your company being a middle manager who hasn't worked Frontline in 20+ years and a coworker of yours who has stayed on his grind for 15+ years and understands the business inside and out and has seen managers come and go, policies get implemented and fail, etc.
