It sounds like she was contextualizing her remarks within the history of Black labor exploitation in this country.
Her words weren't about demonizing anyone but about pointing out that the agricultural jobs migrants fill are often ones that the broader population, including many Black Americans, won't take, despite the historical context of forced labor. It was a broader critique of the way the system continues to rely on migrant labor for these jobs.
