If he gets this job all the dudes who had to put in work as assistants and STILL never got HC jobs LOST:heh:

how so? some guys are just meant to be head coaches. larry bird didnt have head coaching experience. neither did lenny wilkens. wilkens was a player coach and went straight to hc. i honestly think kidd can do it. as long as he has top notch assistants he's good.

iono about this brehs. Couple years at assistant before he takes over the reigns would be ideal.

Kidd is helluva a player, but is it really this easy to get a job as NBA coach? I mean you can go from a nba player to an nba coach (for a playoff team) in a month:dwillhuh:

Doc Rivers,Mark Jackson and Larry Bird had no experience before becoming head coaches

Bird was a good coach pacers went to ecf,ecf and finals in his 3 years

Doc Rivers was coy in orlando and been to 2 finals in boston he had some rough years before the big 3

Jackson led warriors to 2nd round in his 2nd year

they dont hear you though. i call it learning on the job. nets got enough talent to make the playoffs his first year. now if you dont see improvement in that 3rd year. then you can start to look for other candidates. but you gotta think long term. and im certain kidd is gonna make a great head coach .so why not let him get his feet wet.

Larry Bird was in Boston's Front Office before coaching the Pacers.

Rivers & Jackson were commentators for a couple years before becoming coaches.

None of them immediately jumped into coaching after retirement.
