How is This any different from the Marc Jackson hire?

:what:

How does calling a game for TV help with the x and o's

GSW are good because they traded that bum Monte Ellis and made good draft picks and Stephen curry has been healthy

Don't forget the warriors were just a 6th seed last year who beat an overrated Nuggets team and now they are underachieving this year.

the warriors arent under-achieving this year. theyre pretty much where i predicted them to be.

they lost a few more games than i expected so far but iggy getting hurt had alot to do with that.

What does that have to do with being a coach?

There have been plenty of coaches that called games went into to coaching and got fired.

I gave you the reason why GSW are a decent team and none of them have anything to do with Marc Jackson or Marc Jackson being a commentator before coaching

I think Mark Jackson has a lot to do with their success....It isn't always about x's and o's....sometimes it is the personality and mentality that makes a huge difference. He gave them a winning and tough mentality and didn't allow them to accept bullshyt. That is why Phil Jackson was so great

One sees the game objectively on a nightly basis league-wide. It is like watching tape and learning different details versus just playing.

Exactly. he also got to step back and look at the game from another point of view for years (spectator vs. player) and absorb knowledge from many different people former coaches/execs he got to meet working as a analyst for years. Kidd literally went from being a peer to trying to order a group of guys around and demand respect, and it doesnt appear to be able to work like that

There are really no similarities to the Mark Jackson situation except they both played in the league.

they probably thought kidd would have a seemless transition like mark jackson did in GSW. I thought that hiring was stupid at the time as well before the warriors did it cuz jackson had no experience either :yeshrug:

:laff:

have you ever seen this cat draw up a play??

yea but mark jack has been sittin on his a$$ and publically analyzing games for years.

for some reason, i just knew he was ready to be a head coach when he got hired.
So you're saying mark Jackson developed some type if coaching skill by commentating on games?

So why wasn't Doug Collins successful after calling games?

We're contrasting the aptitude of Jason Kidd and Mark Jackson. I am not saying it is best way to become a successful or else more candidates would attempt that route. It is better to be an analyst for some time then to coach directly after retiring from the game. You're from Alabama so it isn't entirely your fault. :russ:

I'm saying the coach doesn't matter and is usually the LAST reason why a team is bad

You're true but on paper, arguably Boston is better than Golden State. We're discussing coaching effectiveness.

id ont think jason kidd ever had the locker room :heh:

different between kidd and mark jackson is personality and respect.

Mark jackson as a pastor and years remove from the game, commands respect.

jason kidd has always been known as a abuser, has a dui on his record and was just in the nba last year
