Can't stand Bill Simmons, the personality, and the writing has been thin, at best, but he does produce quality content when he is part of a think tank, and his overall vision is pretty awesome, when he is not doing all of the tasks. To say HBO, for someone like him, is a step down, is pretty nearsighted. I think he will do great things over there, with tons of creative control, and it will be a great thing for us.When it comes to sports, that's a definite step down...
Damn near everyone with cable either gets ESPN with the package or they pay for the "sports" package to get ESPN...
With Netflix, Redbox, and any other thing you want to name...is there any real reason to get HBO?
Also him not being able to write on grantland is huge...
I wonder if the grantland staff can have him do anything...podcast...interview...anything at all...
