one of the hottest jobs right now is data scientist. A ton of finance and media companies hires them and they usually pay very very well. Hadoop is basically the future of data and any company that has a ton of data to store, retrieve, analyze will be using hadoop so the future is there for it. It does take at least 5000 hours to become pretty decent at any language. Took me like at least 2000 hours to be decent in R.

yeah the A+ is basic stuff but you have to learn the ABCs before you can read.

I hopped on the wave and added it to my bag of tricks....

Im past hadoop now....We mainly use GCP(BigQuery) ....I only use Hadoop when I need to sqoop data from RDBs to Google Cloud

Im basically a software engineer manager for 2 teams these days. Official title is lead but acting in capacity of a manager
