He doesn't have a low BBIQ, that is one of the things he's actually praised for right now and surprising people with. His understanding on defense is pretty much the reason he was getting playing time.

What he lacks is polish and offensive skills, but his IQ is sound, he's not brain dead like JaVale or DeAndre.

His overall understanding is a bit unfortunate right now from the games I watched with him but his PnR game is Once he puts it all together, he will be one of the best players in the league for years to come. Defensively, he's legit right now but he can be a bit late on rotations. DeAndre lack of fundamentals is his biggest hurdle. Even McGee is far more fundamentally sound than Jordan.
