War & Peace
I just got out of the theater. It’s easily Kevin Smith’s best work in a very long time.
For a stoner flick, It was a really sweet movie about fatherhood. All the cameos were funny as fukk especially Matt Damon and Affleck. Affleck’s cameo was the best one hands down. Which is amazing because his part was written well after production started. Kind of made me sad and want to reconnect with friends I fell out with.
The only thing that took some getting used to is how badly white people and Redman age
All those mufukkers looked old as fukk. Kind of makes you think of aging and your own mortality. Once you get past that, it is a very entertaining movie.
There were about 30 people in the theater. A real sausage fest. I think I counted two women.![]()
Can’t wait to watch it again when it starts streaming.
Was there a Pumpkin Escobar cameo?

so I guess that has to be taken with a grain of salt. The humor and tone is virtually and intentionally identical to the original from 18 years ago so if you're a fan of the View Askew stuff and can get past how
most of these guys are lookin these days you'll have a good time. From the trailers I really thought they were gonna have this focus largely on Smith's kid and her character's friends but Jay is ultimately the film's comedic, narrative, and emotional center throughout and Mewes did an infinitely better job carrying the film on all those fronts than I thought he was capable of at this point in his life/career so big props to him. Him and Smith definitely still inhabit these characters well despite their age so if Clerks 3 is really a go with their new 3rd wheel as the post-credits scene seems to indicate I'd be down for it.
. Oh and I might've misheard over the audience but I swear I heard Redman drop a "breh" in this too
I can't actually think of any other Hollywood film that has a breh using the word breh in spoken dialogue off the top of my head so that stood out to me lol... maybe Kevin Smith a Coli lurker on the down low

though.
