This is what you like to see from rappers, people, leaders, but esp. ones 15 years or so in the game, maturity, reflection, humility, those kinds of qualities.

While still making some dope tracks. His new one has a dozen or so standouts. A song I always loved from Jeezy was Dreamin' and you can see the depth he showcased on that, a very mature, very emotional and emotive song.

one day you'll have kids, and how you gon explain all that shyt you did

young and dumb with a pocket full of glass,

She addicted to the high
I'm addicted to the cash
I almost put my hands on her
When I caught her in my stash
How could I do her like that?
Lord knows I'm wrong
Why would I do her like that?
Lord knows she strong
I know it's been hard
But we made it, baby
Ten years clean
So she's still my lady

I must be dreamin'

You like the brother
I never, ever had
You try your best
And I'd still get mad
We risked it all together
Been through it all together
Caught cases and we still together
Headed out
I sleep while you drive
Me and my dog
Yeah, we chippin' on five
Remember back when we
Shared our clothes

1. He isn’t trapped inside this bubble of perpetual childhood and immaturity that most of his peers are…he’s comfortable being an adult and not portraying something to placate the young/young-minded audience. Solid.

2. You can tell he’s at peace. Finding peace is really the pot of gold for real. He’s accepted what he’s been thru and he’s content with where he is presently and seems fine with wherever he’s going…there’s really nothing more you can ask for, that’s the goal.

Excellent convo, both are great listeners. The real guys who really really been thru it usually get right and stay right after while…the smart ones I’ll say. It’s the actor dudes playing a role and/or the dummies who stay stuck in Neverland wanting to be a kid forever. 🫡 to growth, he came in the game a misguided lost youngin and he’s now a grown ass mature man who acts like one…should be a blueprint, but of course he won’t be, not in this game where the youth dictates the cool.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Interesting interview. The Jeezy now and the one from when he first popped up... it's such a crazy transformation. He seems like he's in a good spot despite the divorce.

I think these conversations are valuable but it might be helpful for a professional to be involved. Good shyt OP.

I was thinking that too. I remember watching Jeezy’s Trap or Die documentary when he was first starting to get known—and the man he is now is a completely different person. His ability to articulate himself has improved exponentially. His transformation is a testament to people’s capacity to grow, no matter where they’re from or what they’ve been through.

U can tell by his reaction to Gucci’s antics during their Verzuz.

Which, to be fair and clear to Gucci - I didn’t see him as being immature in that moment.

I love progression, but I would bet most of us will never have to stand next to a person who sent people to kick in our doors and blow our brains out, and almost succeeded. Honestly, a few mean words back is really a blessing for that to be the extent of the payback.

Otherwise, it’s incredible to see these black men grow. And it’s cool that it’s the ones you least expect, that crash out as youth but flip the script to be articulate leaders. So dope. From Guccis transformation to Jeezy, I always sit and wonder as an old head…what young dude am I watching now gonna be that miracle 15 years from now agaisnt all odds and observations (like a Kodak etc, and before you laugh, Gucci was down just as bad as him)

Salute

Nah fukk Gucci. He didn’t HAVE to do the Verzuz with Jeezy. He CHOSE to. nikka was acting like an immature dikkhead. And Jeezy didn’t send anyone to Gucci’s doorstep either. Gucci just kept blaming Jeezy.
