That's decent of Jay he had no reason to go that extra mile for them. That's nice.

Interesting fact the street mix of 'Deja Vu' the BadBoy version was not actually a remix, they made their own version first :why: :russ:

Steely Dan took all the money not because of some bigoted hiphop hate but because they were mad BadBoy's version would not be released and lost money SMH :russ:

Interesting insight into Jay's time at Def Jam. Wish we had more stories about this. Wonder if this mafr him think management was a more viable path forward.

He is tailor-made for that he always loved the Boss position pause.

He went solo to get that allure of a Boss, I think he has done a little better than satisfactory when you take into account all things.

I would love to hear more insightful DefJam stories too, it's great insight into the dynamics of a very guarded business.

I want to do a “little better than satisfactory” like Jay Z has in his life

Not his earnings, his management.

Like Freeway flopped, 2 labels before RocNation flopped, Armdvale etc. He even banked on Tiarie Marie and not Rihanna and we know how that turned out.

He is major for Cake, I am talking about his "management" in relation to the comment I was replying to. They get a paper plane cap and then nothing these days.

Take those tinted glasses off every midas touch you think he has. He caught major bricks too! :hubie:

What was Freeway supposed to do in 2007? Is there any other label where Freeway wouldn’t flop that time?

How is Rocnation a flop? With all their hits and platinum albums over the last 15 years?

I never said it was a flop, and I hear you on Freeway I was just painting an example. I simply said Jay's management accomplishments are above satisfactory not his personal earnings which are phenomenal. That's a clear fact but ....

Jay's self promo is unrivaled but his management not so much.

He couldn't put on Memphis Bleek, Memph stayed one hit away his whole career. He got handed the DefJam and best of RocaFella Records keys and fumbled. There are a list of Jay failures not many but there are out there.

RIta Ora and them and had to go to court to leave his team. Jay good for himself and everybody else is/are leverage or stepping stones.

Jay's money comes from endorsements others cutting checks and his music/entertainment portfolio. That's amazing but self-made.

Jay doesn't care too much for others concerns, ask confirmed by Oschino Sparks. An appalling Boss who is actually a middleman on his own label print.

LiveNation take half off of all RocNation endeavors. (Any key decisions in change or recruitment Jay needs permission from his Boss)

I hope it dont come off sounding like hate, I think Jay is an Icon though and much Inspiration too. :wow:
