i'm a jay-z fan....and i was a bit put off by that promo. he's basically riding the hard work of Ye, Cole, Wale and hell, even Mac Miller. He surfed that whole wave and rode it a week later so he can drop his own shyt by himself. yesterday afternoon i read that whole jay-z dikkrider thread and really had a good laugh....but when I saw the commercial it just i confirmed everything was reading earlier. i couldn't even really be excited because i was lowkey disgusted at the blatant dikkriding. and tbh that's the most extreme case of dikkriding i've ever seen an artist do. like c'mon hov'...you're just going to piggyback on all of their promo...then get a major corporation to dwarf any marketing anybody under you have...so you can outshine everyone? at this stage in the game he doesn't have to partner with samsung, but he did to reach the demographic he's out of touch with. as a fan, i'm annoyed. it's dikkriding to the highest degree possible. yeah....this shyt will be classic...a classic birthed in the clutches of the corporate infrastructure. this is what kanye was ranting about the whole time. the corporate machine...and watch jay-z just spit in his face with this samsung deal. i'm not saying the album won't sound great...i'm sure it will. it's the principal of how he's gone about it that makes it shady. jay has shown that he has lost his touch by this action alone. as a fan you have to recognize certain shyt. hov' could drop an album with no single or promo and it sell...but you know what? at 43, he doesn't have the courage to test his own crown. a fan base he's been building since the mid 90's he's afraid to test on it's own almost 2 decades later. at the end of the day Kanye get's the GOAT title because he had the courage to believe in his product more than he cares about the promo. Jay-Z is doing the exact opposite...not only does it make him a dikkrider, it makes him, still, a corporate slave...or as Ye' put it...a new slave.

like the koreans over at samsung give a fukk about the music. they just linked w/ someone who has a large following just like :troll: in order to sell more phones and gain some of that cool factor apple is losing.

Jay-z is making the album he wants to make, but getting checks along the way just like he did w/ budwiser and many others. if this album suck it won't be samsungs fault and if its great that won't have anything to do with samsung either.

you nikkas is killing me talking about everything but the music. you talking about samsung caring its a fukking check B!!. He already told you he's a Business, MAN. He supposed to get that check, fukk how nikkas feel

i'm not into the commercial, but this is getting overblown as fukk. jay is piggybacking on how many big releases there were this month, but i'd rather have someone tryna drop every month
