Didn't Jay used to brag about releasing an album every summer?
I think outside his retirement scams, handing out cellphones and using scandal to create buzz for his album. He has come to realize he hasn't got the large fanbase he thinks he has. The cancelled solo shows prove that and also dude has most likely run out of things to brag about. He does not want to come out to a brick and he has been musically getting sh1tted on since he messed up Jay Electronicas album with all his verses no one asked for.

What all these hating ass people realize he did all that while the iron was hot. Music was selling and you had music videos and soundtracks in movies so he capitalized on it, he can’t do all that now since music marks time. He’s already cemented in Hip Hop history.

Jay is by far number one you have had to be really all the way isolated throughout the last 30 odd years to not know He did all in Boss Mode.
He is forever cemented as a pioneering hustler turned rapper turned business mogul. He will always have skeptics and flat out envy coming his way while alive.
