Jay -Z being the undisputed goat is a narrative created by the corporations he works for

Jay isn’t my GOAT obviously but what’s the point of being a rap fan if you cannot acknowledge greatness and understand why a select handful of people are in the conversation. Jay’s longevity is unmatched when it comes to relevance and sales. His influence is undeniable. He has multiple classics. You don’t need a corporation to tell you shyt. He’s in the conversation on his own accord.

Jay is in my top 5, but over the last few years I’ve noticed a trend where people are talking about “you can’t argue against Jay being the goat unless you’re emotional, he is a billionaire and look how far he has pushed hip hop” as if he is Tom Brady that has blown past all the other claimants for the title which is false.

He has not dropped a classic album since 2003 and has dropped a bunch of middling albums and verses that get glazed incessantly by his pawns in the media. He remained relevant throughout the 00’s riding the coattails of Kanye and Beyoncé and getting good PR by being the negro whisper for corps that used him to sell cheap liquor, gentrifying arenas and to break up protests that challenged the power structure like the NFL.

In return they pushed the narrative of him being the greatest because of all his business deals and allowed him to be a pretend billionaire like Diddy. He is the textbook definition of a sellout and plenty of people you can make a strong argument deserve to go over him on a list and at the end of the day music is subjective.
Breh it was like that in 2014

All this right here.

People are just on this new sh*t where they're trying to be creative to find new ways to hate. Jay is easily Hip Hop's most quotable MC. Regular talks with dudes in the damn barbershop are full of Jay-Z lines. Dude is up there with Pac and B.I.G. when it comes to influence, impact and classics. So there's literally no way any actual Hip Hop fan who's objective would have an issue with people having Jay as their GOAT.

The actual GOAT's in this sh*t have him as one of their GOAT's.

No. Its more like putting out classic songs and albums. Changing the entire mindset of the industry. Not to mention changing how majority of rappers record their music.

thats why he the goat of goats

he changed what dudes rap about and how they rap about it lol

had Biggie switch his whole style and recording process up

Jay on my top 5 but was biting biggie a lot. Mind you Big passed away at 24 with 2 studio albums.

I think yall confused on what biting is. Jay z if anything help add to Biggie legacy

Jay legacy dont change if he left Big in 1997. But jay quoting meaningless lyrics for the most part kept Biggie name attached to him the higher he got in the game.

“Dont worry about Brooklyn I’ll continue to flame therefore a world with amnesia wont forget your name”
