Money always being the be all, end all for all things is one of the nastiest parts of being human. It transcends race and culture and anything else we use to separate us...everybody "worships" money and those with it, it's like them being pieces of shh!t or untalented or corny doesn't even matter. You can't do shh!t without money out here, you need it...but come on, stop letting that shh!t make you overlook morals and principles and character...and actual skill, etc... Lol

All that said, Jay-z's resume in rap is immaculate. Tenured af, highly skilled, has classic music, etc... I mean, money aside, he has a strong argument for #1 in rap. All you need is a strong argument and you're there...there is no definitive best, it's music.

The issue with this is its all subjective/regional

Ain't nobody quoting Jay z but me and @I'm Blackman in Alabama :manny:

Webbie got more quotables to the average person around here, yet I don't hear him in these discussions

If folks got Jay z in their top 5, it's cool. But don't act like everybody gotta fukk with his music to be a fan of Hip hop. Notice it's never west coast or down south rap in these litmus tests. Always some NY shyt even NY nikkas don't even wanna hear on the radio :russell:

And to pivot, remember that actual goats put 3 stacks in their top 5's but the coli.com says otherwise :sas2:
ice cube and kendrick names are always said

And for the south Wayne and Face and 3k

So your post is cap

If he didnt have the money ppl wouldn't say hes undisputed

Ppl love dikkriding money, and he rubs shoulders with white money

The more I think about it the more I see Jay-Z as a c00n

The NFL shyt, the thing where he was on stage and providing cover for policy

Bruh brags on his money

But he owns no production

Bruh is just an entertainer making deals with white ppl, and threw Black ppl under the bus to do it

The bolded. :dead:

Jay been dope to me since i heard vol 2 when I was 14. He was listened to by people within my circle....but youre right, there is a regional component. Most people around my way (in my age group) quote project pat, Pac, and BG more than Jay because thats what they grew up on. When I was in high school for example....me and my circle of like 2 "hiphop heads" friends were big jay fans....dynasty album time...but the school as a whole....CMB, local artists, and DMX had it on lock.

So regionalism does play a part to a degree.

It’s a narrative created by his dikk riding haters, this thread is just another piece of evidence :mjlol:

Everything you gotta compare to Jay-z. This guy is better that Jay, that guy is better than him, he sold more than Jay, he was hotter than Jay in 97, this guy has a better discography, bar for bar that guy is better. Jay is like the sun to you weirdos, like how people always wanna compare various types of brightness to the sun. Rarely to never do you hear anyone say black thought it better than Scarface or Nas. Dmx was a better performer than Pac. Or whatever the fukk.

If you just stop acting like that the notion is that he is the undisputed goat, then it won’t be said. Many of His fans just say he’s their goat. Never seen them in Nas comments claiming Jay is the goat, but the opposite is very true :dahell:

Im from Detroit

So when you say regional its some truth to that but a rapper like Webbie was left in the Wipe me down year in Detroit. While any new Jay z album or feature is played when it drops in detroit. So jay “tiny” piece of the pie in each city is greater than a local artist

Also Jays business acumen and money is not why people place him so highly.....at least not for me.

The dude who wrote (or thought) this verse could have been broke and I would have said "who is that rapping!?" The talent, the bars...its just obvious.

Likewise his money cant make me love the Sunshine video (though im in the minority who like the song).

I love it. Me and u some of Jay biggest fans. I cant recall u making a thread about him. I think mine was months if not a year ago. The more they talk on here. Make tweets or YT vids. Its cements him as the goat. We say this everyday but dude aint drop in 8 years but is talked about more than any rapper

The funniest shyt cats that hate him still have Hov in the top 5

There need to be a scientific study on Jay Z gravity
