No he has not sirnas has been much more consistant over his career than jay though tbh

Book of Hov shyt was self serving IMO (but he's never been shy about that).
Couldn't perform one night or be at one show? 1?
You just said he didn't acknowledge the artform and culture that made him who he is.
The exhibit was giving props and respect to guys like DJ Premier, Def Jam, Kool Herc, Caz, Melle Mel, Kid Capri, Rick Rubin, Big Daddy Kane, Russell Simmons, Tribe, Run DMC, Larry Smith, XXL, The Source, Rap Pages, etc. He literally collected mad artifacts from all types of sh*t, including a remodel of D&D Studios and had all of these influences on display to celebrate how Hip Hop changes his life and the lives of others and had whole sections dedicated to all of these people who shaped the culture.
He did a lot more than just jump on stage. He gave something to the people to come visit and learn about Hip Hop's history. The exhibit was dope AF.
alright lets run thru imo, I have heard every nas and jay album front to back own everyone and been to multiple shows. imo its opinon but let me give you mineI love Nas. Author of what's very possibly the greatest hip hop album ever in Illmatic. But no. He is not over Jay in consistency.
to me he has slightly spec when you look at last 15 years which there has been quite a gap in Nas favor, see my above post. imoNo he has not sir
the exhibit shyt is dope (didn't know), but you can't perform once when you are a RAPPER and claim to be the greatest RAPPER. And literally every other legend in rap performed? Nah man. It comes off as very snooty and thinking it's beneath you.
i don't agree with him not performing.

Illmatic = RD 2 classics
IWW > Vol 1
I am... <Vol 2
Nastradamas = Vol 3 (both super mixed bag of mid)
Lost Tapes 1>Roc la famila
Stillmatic= Blueprint 2 classics
Gods Son> BP2
Streets disciple <Black Album
HHID > Kingdom cum (both mid)
Unititled < AG
DR<WTT (both near classics to me but ill give WTT the win as its more hip hop)
Life is Good> MCHG
Nasir< 444
KD> everything is love
Now we left out entire NAS hit boy series...
KD2
MAGIC
MAGIC 2
KD3
MAGIC 3
all 6 are anywhere from good to great projects ..that plus lost tapes 2 and the firm which are mid as helll>>>> what we left out for jay. 2 mid r kelly projects
Score 1 for Nas
Features idk but ill give it to Jay for argument 1 for jay
Wins head to head imo
Nas= 7
Jay= 6
Ties = 2
But thats with essentially lumping all Nas hit boy albums 2-6 into 1? jay has legit has 2 great albums now since 2004. AG and 444, thats it how I see it
aint that what we here for to talk great albums and opinions? gimme yours or where you disagree with that listThis n*gga just said "Score 1 for Nas" like this is Ali vs Frazier or some sh*t, lol. WTF?
Dude, you wrote all of that, but it's just your opinion. So it really doesn't mean anything outside of you. You're not changing any mind's by writing a novel, bro. It's not that serious.

well thats not very fun, lets talk albumsThis thread ain't about debating Nas vs Jay though.
You don’t think n*ggas have done that enough since 2001? LOL!! Thread has nothing to do with Esco.
But I'll say this, after what was supposed to be the OG I Am, no other GOAT has let me down more than Nas. Illmatic, IWW, and even The Firm album, I thought Nas was untouchable! I used to go all the way to Brooklyn as a kid just because they would have Nas mixtapes that we couldn't find Uptown. That's how much I love that dude's music. After '98, he was just hit or miss forever, to me.
Jay had some misses too, but he was way more reliable for me. Away from a couple of joints.
Every other legend including those who paved the way for him found the time. Didn't need to tour or anything.That dude barely comes outside.
I don’t have an issue with him not performing. Everybody gives in their own way. I like the idea of the exhibit. Because that was about giving something to the people. So mad people got to go to this thing and learn about Hip Hop, and actually see DJ Premier's equipment and all of these Hip Hop artifacts and magazines and just a variety of historical items on display. Slick Rick's chains, Kid Capri tapes and Jay's suits from the Reasonable Doubt cover, Run DMC shelltoe Adidas, etc. That was some dope sh*t to do.
I think people have to stop taking Jay's level in life and attributing that to every move he makes. I don’t think he's looking down on people, at all. He just had an idea way in advance on how he wanted to celebrate the 50th for Hip Hop, and it was more about giving this exhibit to the people.
well thats not very fun, lets talk albums
to me it just sounds like you stoped listening to nas after 2000 but thats where he did most of his great music..bro jay has dropped one good album 444 since 2007. been 18 years
musics subjective so I cant argue with you past thatNah, I check for every single Nas album.
Dude's one of my GOAT's. I have to. But the quality of his music has never reached the levels it did from '94-'98. He never got back to that level again. He has like 17 albums, and I honestly only f*ck with a few as a whole. And then random cuts from the other ones.
Every other legend including those who paved the way for him found the time. Didn't need to tour or anything.
If Nas was consistent as Jay he would sell way more.to me he has slightly spec when you look at last 15 years which there has been quite a gap in Nas favor, see my above post. imo
