The CEO didnt get fired, he quit. Two different things
The CEO of Jay Z's struggling high-definition music streaming service Tidal quit on Tuesday less than three months on the job.
Hip-hop mogul Jay Z purchased the music streaming service in March for $56million and it became a private company co-owned by a host of stars including Madonna, Kanye West and Rihanna.
CBS News reported that the subscription service, which was originally based in Norway, had been marketed as 'a moment that will forever change the course of music history'.
But since the revamped service was unveiled to the public in New York in March, it has struggled to find an audience and has now lost its second CEO.
Soon after Jay Z took over the company it was announced that CEO Andy Chen was leaving to be replaced by Peter Tonstad, a former CEO of Tidal's parent company Aspiro Group, as interim chief executive.
At the time a company statement said Tonstad 'has a better understanding of the industry and a clear vision for how the company is looking to change the status quo'.
News of Tonstad's stepping down was first reported in the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.
'The only thing I can confirm is that I have resigned,' Tonstad told the Paper.

I want Jay to succeed as much as anybody else, but it seems like this is not going to work out and that's an unfortunate reality. Hopefully he can learn from this.

Not necessarily. He was the original CEO of the company that was replaced by the guy who headed Tidal. It looks like he is also in over his head. Dudes were cool as a small company operating in Norway, but this is the big leagues. Looks like they were not built for it. The turnover is terrible however.

I loathe Jay-Z and everything he does and he's always successfull at all the bullshyt I hate, now the one thing he does that I can actually get behind because its about bringing people higer quality audio (from what I understand, and still not Hi-Red like HDtracks or anything but its a start) and it fails. I feel like the music elite ran a smear campaign cuz it might have taken away some of their profits but what do I know

I always wondered, when Dame said that was he refering to DMX? Cuz if anybody remembers back in 1998 DMX got charged for punching on of those higher ups that office. They never mentioned who but some threw his name out. Could've also meant more than once of course.
