It's one of those years and not even up for debate. All these guys dropped CLASSIC albums those years, AND dominated sales.


Jay-Z's only REAL classics was Reasonable doubt (flop) and Blueprint (got Ethered)...


Blueprint would be like Lebron having a GREAT season, Classic Season... .But Durant (stillmatic) also having a CLASSIC season (not as classic), but embarassing Lebron in a best of 5 of games of 1 on 1 in front of 100,000 people at Cowboys stadium broadcast on Live TV... (Ether)

That's why I gave the MVP to 50. Cause he dominated the season with GRODT... but imo The Black album has had a better standing testing time and that's where Jay won when it matters.

Another thing about Jay is that he never started no wave. Someone else would start a wave and he would ride theirs... and then he'd find new waves to ride until the next one... and so on and so on until no one was left and it was all his for the claiming.

Wayne started WAVES.

His number of #1 albums, his longevity in the game, his paper, his hot wife, his business reach... Hov leads in a lot of these categories and he's gonna push these on you like it's all that matters.... but realistically this would be like a dude braggin about leadin the league in points but not never winnin the championship. Is he still the best?

Jay never had that scoring title, regular season MVP, and Finals MVP all in one season type years.
